It ran two seasons (6 eps X 2 seasons = 12 eps + 2 Christmas specials). It's great if you like British humor. Also, sometimes the geographical references get lost on Americans. I had no idea on a couple of them. But it's absolutely worth it for Ricky Gervais' David Brent. He is PERFECT as the guy who thinks he's smart and cool and hip and has no idea that he isn't. This is one of my favorite clips: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: The Office: Michael and Dwight Strike a Nerve

This is an interesting take on things. I have often wondered if there were many viewers who are in exactly that line of work. I felt really bad for the Prince family during that episode. They were so ridiculously nice!

Agreed - Hilary Swank is attractive, maybe even striking at times, and she certainly seems accessible (like the girl next door), but she's not hot.

Re: The Office: Michael and Dwight Strike a Nerve

Thanks for the comment...and your take is not one I had considered. I need to watch a lot more of the British version, I am not nearly as familiar with it as I would like to be. It makes a lot more sense to me after reading your comment.

Re: The Office: Michael and Dwight Strike a Nerve

The British version of 'The Office' was very different from what they brought here. Our version is more traditional a comedy show whereas the British version is just, well, uncomfortable to watch. And that's where the humor comes from. Make no mistake, I love them both, but for different reasons.

Last weeks 'The Office' was very British. It was so awkward that at least twice, I wanted to change the channel or leave. But I couldn't. I kept waiting for David Brent to show up. In the end, I found myself really hating Dwight (and I know we're supposed to, but he is just an evil character) and hoping Michael would do the right thing. But Michael is spineless and easily manipulated, so of course, the names are off to the National office. At least there's the karma of the car wreck, I suppose.

And yes, Hilary Swank...not hot.
